For people that keep tropical pets, the magic 80% humidity range is difficult to achieve. Our iguana is in a 8′ tall by 4′ deep by 6′ wide enclosure with glass doors. Prior to purchasing this unit we have misters (like in the grocery store) that went on several times a day. The max humidity they could achieve was roughly 25%.

We own the frog & keep it in our 5 yr old son’s room. We have owned it since he was 1, & it has always worked perfectly! Best feature of all is that it requires NO filters–saves money & is so easy to maintain. To sanitize your frog, just put in a (tiny bit of) bleach/water solution & swish around for a minute & let it sit for 20 minutes, then rinse until the bleach smell is gone & that’s it! I was reluctant to have a humidifier because I had always heard they put spores/bacteria into the air. But the fact that my son rarely EVER gets sick, assures me that the frog is fine. I love this thing!! When it’s time to get it out for the season, I notice that in one night, my son’s chapped lips are gone. It keeps his room static-free since our home is very dry. Great for moisturizing his skin & keeping the itchies away (dry skin runs in our family). One last thing I would like to mention is that, unlike the review above, our frog DOES have 2 seperate switches: one to turn on/off & one to adjust the mist. The on/off switch is in the back, so not sure if they re-designed it or if the person above doesn’t realize it’s there. Don’t think twice about this purchase…I’ve had expensive humidifiers that had hard-to-find filters & were a pain-in-the-neck to clean. The frog is so easy, you cannot go wrong. In fact, just moments ago, I ordered the new adorable leopard for OUR bedroom (since I have actually “borrowed” his frog when he’s sleeping over my sister’s house:) We have a leopard theme bedroom, so he’ll fit right in!
